WWE Rumors: New Date For 2025 WWE Draft Revealed?

WWE fans waiting for a post-WrestleMania roster shakeup this year may have to wait a little longer. According to new reports, the 2025 WWE Draft is still happening, but likely not until after SummerSlam.

The last WWE Draft happened in April 2024 right after WrestleMania 40. Since then, WWE has been silent on the next brand split plans. But according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the Draft hasn’t been scrapped, just delayed.

“It was just a matter of them deciding where and when to do it,” Johnson said.

More information is available thanks to Bodyslam.net, which relayed via its Patreon service that WWE is strongly contemplating switching the 2025 Draft to the fall. The current idea would have the Draft taking place some time in September following SummerSlam to make it more compatible with the fall TV premieres of WWE.

This move would give WWE time to finish their summer storylines and have a clean slate for the fall. Sources said there’s no rush to move the rosters right now especially with the recent NXT call-ups and fewer gaps to fill on Raw and SmackDown.

WWE has yet to officially announce the 2025 Draft but with SummerSlam happening the weekend of August 2–3 at MetLife Stadium, all signs point to a September Draft.

Until then, fans should expect WWE to use the summer to wrap up current feuds, and then hit the reset button in time for fall.
