WWE is reportedly in talks to bring in two big free agents as the company continues to add to its impressive roster.
In the last few months, WWE has added a boatload of impact talents, such as Jordynne Grace and Ricky Saints, to their roster. Currently, the company has been on the lookout for talents from other promotions that will help it remain the big dog in professional wrestling.
Now, new reports have revealed the company is pursuing two already-established names who just became free agents: TNA veteran Alex Hammerstone and former AEW star Miro. Their signings would further WWE’s recent strategy of bringing in experienced performers with a proven track record.
WWE’s Interest in Free Agents Hammerstone & Miro
“I know there’s interest with Alex Hammerstone,” Wrestle Votes reported on a new edition of Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass. “I don’t know if he’s looking for a WWE contract, if he’s going to spend some time on the indies or whatnot, but I know there’s interest from WWE in Alex Hammerstone.”
Former MLW World Champion Alex Hammerstone remained in MLW until the start of 2024. After which, he became a free agent and eventually joined TNA. He also wrestled in NXT in September 2024 as part of the TNA-NXT crossover. Facing Oba Femi and Tony D’Angelo.
Rusev, known as Miro when he was in WWE, was released by the company in April 2020. He would then move on to AEW later that year. He was let go from AEW in February of this year after being off television since late 2023. WrestleVotes claimed that WWE is interested in bringing Miro back, but a deal is not yet done.
“I’d expect Miro before the end of the year,” he said. “I know there’s interest there. I don’t know if he’s ready to sign right now. Maybe, more of a summer or fall type of thing.”
