Despite currently being on different brands, a new report claims the Lucha Bros. — Penta and Rey Fenix — will be reuniting on WWE television sooner than some expected.
The Lucha Bros. are, arguably, the greatest tag team in AEW history. And this time last year, reports suggested Penta and Fenix would be making the jump to WWE as a team. However, Penta was set free months before his brother and made his WWE debut in January.
Fenix finally received his AEW release in March and joined his brother in WWE last month. However, they were put on separate brands with the hopes of turning them both into singles stars. It seemed like a Lucha Bros. reunion in the company was possibly a year or more away. Well, not so fast.
“Sources indicate there are plans in the very near future to align Rey Fenix and Penta on the same roster and to present them as a team, the Lucha brothers. We are told, the idea behind debuting Rey Fenix on SmackDown pre-WrestleMania was done to keep Penta’s momentum on RAW uninterrupted during his Intercontinental Championship feud.”

There are rumors that the 2025 WWE Draft could happen this summer. That seems like a logical moment for a long-awaited reunion of the Lucha Bros. in WWE.
