For diehard WWE fans hoping to get a surprise Brock Lesnar return at this weekend’s SummerSlam premium live event, a new report has some bad news for them.
It has been a very long time since fans saw multi-time WWE champion Brock Lesnar inside a wrestling ring. Early last year, “The Beast” competed often as the antagonist in a feud with top star Cody Rhodes. However, since losing the rubber match this time last year, Lesnar has been off WWE TV.

Most are aware by now that Lesnar being referenced in a sexual assault lawsuit against Vince McMahon made the company decide to distance themselves from the former UFC champion. However, in July, WWE’s head of creative Paul “Triple H” Levesque made it seem like a return sooner than later was not out of the equation.
“You’d have to ask Brock Lesnar that,” he said last month. “Brock does his own thing. He’s up in Canada I’m sure, watching his kids play hockey and enjoying life. If and when he decides that he would like to do something, we’d be open to the conversation, but we’ll see.”
Brock Lesnar reportedly has no say in a potential WWE return
Well, a new report from Wrestling Observer reporter Dave Meltzer makes it seem like Levesque was not being honest in his recent comments.
“The situation right now is that there were reasons having to do with what was in the Grant lawsuit that WWE legal felt it was not good to have Lesnar on television.,” Meltzer said this week. “When that belief changes, Lesnar will be back and on television. It’s not his decision to decide to come back, it is their decision on if they want him back and when.”
Based on those comments and the McMahon lawsuit nowhere close to being finished, it seems like Brock Lesnar will remain away from a WWE ring for much longer.
