Has Kevin Owens Already Signed New WWE Contract? New Rumor Claims KO Trying To Keep Deal Secret From Fans

A new WWE rumor suggests that Kevin Owens likely signed a new contract months ago, but may be trying to keep that news secret from fans.

Kevin Owens is one of the most valuable talents on the WWE roster. There is little that he can’t do as a performer in and out of the ring. He can put on fun matches with any wrestlers on the roster. But he can also play any role necessary. Be it an unhinged villain or a loyal pal, KO can do it all.

That is why his future in the industry has been big news in 2024. It was reported earlier this year that his contract could expire near the end of this year. In the months since, there have been various reports about his contract status, as well as rumors that AEW would throw the checkbook at him to bring the former WWE champ to their company.

On Friday, Wrestling Observer reporter Dave Meltzer gave an update on the Kevin Owens contract situation and why there are so many differing reports on his status.

Many believe Kevin Owens signed a new WWE contract months ago

“I do know that multiple people in wrestling have said dating back to Bash in Berlin that they believed he’s signed but it’s being kept quiet. That’s wrestling rumors that we haven’t been able to directly confirm,” Meltzer revealed [h/t NoDQ]. “Those closest to the situation have not said anything about any of the different versions of the story out and very clearly whatever the story is, he wants it secretive for now.”

Owens is currently engaged in an ongoing storyline with Cody Rhodes where elements of it are being kept off television. KO attacked the WWE champion off camera after WWE Bad Blood. And in the storyline, the company is blocking him from speaking out on the reasons why. It could be possible they may play into the recent WWE rumors of his contract ending soon.

Either way, it is interesting that the company is investing so much time in a performer who could be leaving very soon.
