A surprise new rumor about the Hardy Boyz and WWE could open the door to a potential appearance at SummerSlam this Saturday night.

We are just hours away from the biggest wrestling show of the summer. On Saturday night, WWE will put on the 2024 edition of SummerSlam and it is set up to be a massive event. When it comes to the company’s tent pole shows there can often be big surprises and there have been various rumors ahead of the card.

The most notable speculation about SummerSlam 2024 is of former Undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns making his long-awaited return. However, on Friday some interesting news could set up a surprise appearance from one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history.

Earlier today, Wrestling Observer broke the news that the Hardy Boyz were in Cleveland, Ohio today — the site of SummerSlam — and met with WWE officials.

The Hardy Boyz reportedly met with WWE officials in Cleveland on Friday

“We are told that The Hardys met with WWE very early this morning,” the outlet revealed. “No word on what was discussed, but we have also heard some content was filmed to be rolled out via WWE digital as well.”

The meeting simply could have been about producing digital content for the company. Furthermore, Matt and Jeff Hardy were already set to be in the city for appearances at Destination WrestleCon, and the elder Hardy is taking part in a match for Game Changer Wrestling on Friday night.

However, it would not be shocking if the brothers did make an unexpected appearance at the event. They have been open about their interest in a WWE return after their AEW contracts lapsed earlier this year. Plus, one of their current employers — TNA Wrestling — has a working relationship with WWE and would probably approve a fun one-off appearance at the massive event.
