Date For Rumored John Cena Vs. R-Truth Match Emerges

John Cena has long been R-Truth’s “childhood hero.” However, following his stunning attack on the “former Judgment Day member” after Backlash, a report may point to when the two could have a potential match.

For years, veteran WWE superstar R-Truth’s comedic antics have seen him call John Cena his idol. Truth has been seen using Cena’s moves in the ring and speaks about him often. Moreover, Truth also told the 17-time WWE Champion that he had his back weeks before Backlash.

Then he proved that devotion further on Saturday night when he intervened on the champ’s behalf to stop a potential bout ending move from Randy Orton during his main event match with Cena. However, while congratulating Cena at the post-event press conference, Truth was put through a table for a remark the champ did not appreciate.

Well, the two could be on a collision course soon. According to Cory Hays of PWN, R-Truth is set to collide against John Cena in close to two weeks. This could mean that it would take place at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24. Which Cena is advertised for. He said, “R Truth is scheduled to face his ‘childhood hero’ very soon.”

R-Truth also recently spoke about the possibility of the match with John Cena in an interview with Chris Van Vliet.

“A match between me and John Cena? Only way we can see that though, dog, it’s gotta be the right way, you know?” he said. “The old me—I’m not a bad guy, I’m a good guy now. I kiss the babies, I hug people, I don’t kick people in the gonads. So for that to happen, it would have to be a complete turnaround, man.

“I don’t know, man. I would love it, but I don’t know… man, he did some wrong stuff. How you even know he’s gonna listen to me? I try to be the voice of reason, but I don’t know. I’ve been staying out of the mix.”
