SmackDown star Damian Priest is reportedly dealing with several injuries ahead of his big match this weekend at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The ongoing feud between Priest and longtime rival Drew McIntyre has been violent and physical. It seemed to hit a crescendo at WrestleMania 41 when the latter scored a hard-fought victory in a Sin City Street Fight. However, their war didn’t end there. And they are now set to face off inside a steel cage this weekend at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Well, it seems Priest has been far from 100% throughout the feud. But it’s earned him a great deal of internal praise. On Tuesday, PW Insider reported that Priest’s coworkers have marveled at the toughness he has shown throughout the storyline with McIntyre. Despite being very banged up over the course of the feud.
There were rumblings that he suffered a chest injury at WrestleMania 41 and had trouble breathing. He is also believed to have incurred a dental injury during his fatal-four-way match for the United States title last week at WWE Backlash.
There have been no reports suggesting that the 42-year-old plans to take time off in the coming months. Over the weekend, he was honored with a spot on the all-new Bronx, New York, Walk of Fame.
