Following The Rock’s vicious attack on Cody Rhodes to end this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, there is a groundswell of speculation that the company hinted at some legendary returns for the main event match at Wrestlemania 40 night two.

The storyline between Cody Rhodes and The Bloodline was taken to a whole new level on Monday night when the 2024 Royal Rumble winner was brutally attacked by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The WWE icon took Rhodes outside to pummel him in the rain and it shockingly led to a rare moment of on-camera blood being shown that was not accidental.

While there has been a lot of speculation about surprises at Wrestlemania 40 next month, after Raw went off the air social media caught fire with talk of two all-time greats getting involved in the feud that will headline nights one and two of the event.

While The Rock beat on Cody Rhodes in the arena parking lot, in the background a WWE production truck could be seen. This 18-wheeler featured images of John Cena and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin on it. A pair of The Rock’s greatest rivals. It could of course be a coincidence but some on social media felt it was a hint of what’s to come.

Could WWE be actually hinting at legendary help for Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania 40?

Adding to the speculation, popular wrestling rumors X account Wrestlevotes fanned the flames of curiosity when they claimed “Everything is done on purpose. Two weeks out from WrestleMania, the backdrop of these WM ‘specific’ trucks last night would have sufficed. I’ll leave it at that.” The post included pictures of recent trucks used that had current WWE talent pictured instead of the two WWE greats.

Since Paul “Triple H” Levesque has taken over the creative side of WWE content the company has consistently made subtle hints on storylines in the backgrounds of segments. Just this week, during a scene with the competitors in the tag team title match at Wrestlemania, Bloodline wiseman Paul Heyman can be seen in the background talking to Drew McIntyre.

The world title challenger would then get involved in the show-ending brawl and attack Bloodline enemy Seth Rollins. While it may be a reach, it is certainly interesting with recent rumors of Austin and Cena appearing at the fortieth edition of the legendary event.
