He’s been spending the last couple months recovering and rehabbing, and now CM Punk teases a WrestleMania 40 surprise involving Randy Orton.
We may even get wind of things a bit more on the March 25th RAW. That episode of the red brand show emanates from Chicago, Punk’s home town. The recuperating Superstar has been advertised for the big show, one of the last RAW shows before WrestleMania 40.
So…what next?
Things could get interesting, especially when we have CM Punk in front of a hot crowd with a live mic. Punk did have big plans for this year’s. WrestleMania in Philly, but his body had other ideas. All things considered, it’s pretty clear that CM Punk has been working hard to get back. While it seems unlikely he’s going to be cleared and get a last-minute match, he will be present in Philadelphia in just about a week.
Without giving anything away, Punk teased us with an Instagram post, noting that he recently filmed something with Randy Orton, and that fans would love it.
Orton, unlike Punk, is booked on the WrestleMania card. He and Kevin Owens will be challenging for GUNTHER’S Intercontinental Championship.
Of course. Punk and Orton have a history, so seeing those two dance once again would not be such a stretch. We have yet to see CM Punk get into his first big program since returning. There had been plans for CM Punk to face Seth Rollins, and the groundwork had been laid for that. Unfortunately, the injury he suffered during the 2024 Royal Rumble ended plans for Punk-Rollins in Philadelphia.
Many programs will be wrapped up in just over a week, and the weeks following the year’s biggest weekend are a great time for new programs to start up. Perhaps we will know soon enough what Punk and Orton were working on, and how good it could be.
