Bronson Reed has created a whole bunch of momentum for himself over the last few months. However, a serious injury incurred at Survivor Series 2024 is set to sideline him for a while.
This has been a big year for NXT and NJPW veteran Bronson Reed. It took him some time to find a groove in his second stint in WWE, but ever since his summer attack on multi-time world champion Seth Rollins, the Australian has evolved into one of the top heels on WWE Raw.

That’s why it wasn’t too much of a surprise when new Bloodline leader Solo Sikoa recruited him to be a part of his team for the 2024 edition of Survivor Series: WarGames. And during the match, “Big” made, well, a big impression.
At one point, the sizable athlete climbed the top of the WarGames cage looking to drop a massive tsunami splash on OG Bloodline leader Roman Reigns. However, a late save by CM Punk kept Reigns in the match. After the event, head of creative Paul “Triple H” Levesque revealed the attempted splash led to apparent injuries to both of Reed’s ankles.
A new update has emerged on the severity of Bronson Reed’s injury. And it seems likely that he is going to miss a lot of time in the coming months.
Bronson Reed will undergo ankle surgery next week
“The word making the rounds among WWE talents is that Bronson Reed will undergo surgery sometime next week for his ankle/foot injury suffered at WWE Survivor Series,” PW Insider’s Mike Johnson reported Friday.
A specific timeline for his return was not revealed in the report. That probably won’t come until doctors cut him open and see the severity of the injuries to his ankle and/or foot. However, a common procedure like microscopic surgery can require close to two months for high-level athletes to recover from.
On this week’s Smackdown, the company claimed Reed suffered a broken foot. That seems like an injury that will require screws and takes a large amount of time to heal from.
Johnson claimed that the injury to Reed is why Drew McIntyre made his shocking return to WWE Raw this week. Earlier than some expected. Big” was set to face Seth Rollins in cage matches during the company’s holiday tours this month. Those plans will now be scrapped.
