Boatload of Backstage Details Emerge on R-Truth’s Surprise WWE Return at MITB

The WWE Universe rallied for R-Truth’s WWE return after he announced his release. Triple H and his regime listened to the fan outcry and brought him back. However, it was not an easy affair as revealed by reports.

According to a report by Fightful Select, WWE had pursued Truth all week to have a conversation regarding his return. However, the former WWE 24/7 champion ignored all calls from the Stamford-based promotion. This came after it was revealed that he was not happy about his WWE release.

Following this, WWE President and CEO Nick Khan stepped up to the task. He made the call to Truth to get the job done. This led to his eventual return at the 2025 WWE Money in the Bank Premium Live Event.

“We’re told that Killings actually ignored many of WWE’s approaches during the week, until Nick Khan took over and called Killings to work out a new deal. We’re told that the deal was a ‘meeting halfway’ situation.”

R-Truth announced a week after WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event that the company was not going to renew his contract. Since then, the fans have voiced tremendous support to see him back. The ‘We Want Truth’ movement was in full force on the episodes of RAW, SmackDown, and even TNA pay-per-view, Against All Odds.

The WWE management took notice and pulled the trigger faster than anyone expected. In the main event of the Money in the Bank PLE, John Cena and Logan Paul teamed up to battle Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes. R-Truth made his shocking return in the final moments as a hooded figure and attacked Cena. This garnered a huge pop for him.

Furthermore, a new report by PWInsider stated, “R-Truth is officially back with WWE and will be using the name Ron Killings, at least for now.” This could hint at a change of direction for him now that the fans have gotten what they wanted and R-Truth is once again part of the promotion.
