Best Match
The best match on WWE SmackDown this week was the main event match between Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax for the WWE Women’s Championship. It was a Last Woman Standing match that saw both competitors fully use the stipulation. They utilized everything from steel chairs to tables and power-packed moves to decimate each other.
The spectacular in-ring showdown saw Naomi trying to cash in her Money in the Bank contract, only to be stopped by Stratton. She then used her briefcase to knock Jax off the apron, who landed straight on two stacked tables and failed to stand up before the ten count, with Stratton retaining the title.
Worst Match
The WWE Tag Team Championship match between Street Profits and Wyatt Sicks was nothing impressive. It did not last very long and ended in a DQ when the entire tag team division on WWE SmackDown began to brawl, leading to utter chaos with no significant reaction.
Noteworthy Moments
The biggest noteworthy moment of WWE SmackDown this week was CM Punk getting back at John Cena for creating a parody of his Pipebomb last week. He did so by donning Cena’s ‘Basic Thuganomics’ gimmick to come out to a huge surprise for the fans in Riyadh.
A prime highlight of WWE SmackDown was the confrontation between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. The former mentor-pupil laid claim to the King of the Ring crown ahead of their clash at Night of Champions. However, the broadcast was cut off for a while due to a power outage.
Another noteworthy moment was Giulia’s first big moment on WWE’s main roster. Following a top showdown with Zelina Vega, she planted her with knee strikes and a thunderous Northern Lights Bomb to capture the WWE Women’s United States Championship.
The last noteworthy moment was Asuka taking down Jade Cargill a night before their clash in the Queen of the Ring finals at Night of Champions. Naomi interrupted them with a warning, and Cargill shoved Asuka to get to her. This led to the Empress of Tomorrow retaliating and leaving Cargill down on the mat..
Holy Sh!@ Moments
CM Punk bringing ‘Punk Life’ to WWE SmackDown was full of Holy Sh!@ Moments. From taking shots at John Cena‘s acting skills, comparisons with Hulk Hogan, and firing jabs at his entire WWE character and past instances, The Best in the World left him and the fans speechless to end the show.
Much like this segment, the Last Woman Standing match between Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax was also full of jaw-dropping moments. Stratton delivering a Powerbomb on Jax from the top rope to a table, Jax dropping on Stratton, laying on a table, and the final moment of the champion smashing her head with the MITB briefcase, leading to her landing on two tables, fans could not hold back their shocking reactions.
Lowlights
Ron “Truth” Killings once again came looking for John Cena in the ring. Instead, he found himself taken down by Aleister Black with a Black Mass, hinting at the start of a new rivalry.
Another lowlight was Rey Fenix returning to in-ring action after weeks to team up with Andrade El Idolo and defeating the duo DIY. It was a highly compelling match that garnered some reaction, making it a top addition to this week’s WWE SmackDown.
The last lowlight was Jacob Fatu helping Jimmy Uso fend off an attack from Solo Sikoa and J.C. Matteo after losing a scheduled match to him.
