WWE SmackDown had its first episode in the city of Barcelona, Spain, on March 14th, 2025, as part of their European tour. The show was loud and had one of the most vocal and passionate fanbase in attendance for the show in Barcelona.
The Spanish fans witnessed an explosive night of jam-packed in-ring action, jaw-dropping moments, and a capping off the night with a top-class main event. The match saw the end of a title drought for a team that had not been champions for almost four years.

Best Match
The best match, which garnered the loudest reaction for the night by the Spanish audience, had to be the main event. It featured The Street Profits battling DIY with the WWE Tag Team Championships. The match was an excellent display of tag team wrestling and had insane spots with both tag team going at it.
At the end of the match, Johnny Gargano accidentally took out Tomasso Ciampa. He found himself alone and fell to the wrath of a tag team combination move by Dawkins and Ford, who hit the Seven Star Frog Splash and covered Gargano for the three count to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.
Worst Match
In our opinion, the worst match was the opening contest of WWE SmackDown. It was a six-man tag team match pitting LA Knight, Jimmy Uso, and Braun Strowman against Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga. The match had the least significant reactions of all the matches. However, the ending was the only saving grace, which saw Jacob Fatu display his dominance and decimate Braun Strowman.
Noteworthy Moments
A major highlight was the huge ovation for Spain’s own Axiom, the current one-half of the NXT tag team champions. He came to WWE SmackDown for a match against World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. The duo delivered an excellent singles match which had loud reactions and saw Gunther pick up the win following a hard-fought battle against Axiom.
WWE SmackDown also dropped two mysterious teasers. The vignettes were completely different from each other and hinted at the arrival of two new WWE stars.
The first teaser was a superstar in the shadow of bright lights on the top rope of a ring, which seemed like a luchador, and many speculated it to be a pointing towards Rey Fenix. The other one was a dark vignette that flashed a ‘4’ on the screen. Many have speculated it to hinting towards Aleister Black’s return to WWE.
Another major highlight was Paul Heyman’s segment. It was a short one where he berated the Spanish crowd, Seth Rollins and CM Punk and announced that it was Roman Reigns day, as the WWE 2K25 game released today. Moreover, Heyman announced Roman Reigns’ return to SmackDown next week, taking place in Bologna, Italy.
The last exciting highlight of WWE SmackDown this week was the explosive singles match between Randy Orton and Carmelo Hayes. The start of it saw the fans of Barcelona loudly singing Orton’s theme song, which was a sight to witness. The young upstart, Carmelo Hayes, delivered a tough performance against the Viper but failed to capture the win. The ending was also dramatic as a stunned Orton hit an RKO outta nowhere to Hayes to pick up the win.
Holy Sh!@ Moments
The biggest Holy Sh!@ moment that shocked the entire audience of Barcelona in attendance for WWE SmackDown was Tiffany Stratton’s major dive. After Charlotte Flair defeated B-Fab in a singles match, she engaged in an all-out brawl and went all the way to the backstage area. As Miz’s TV segment was about to begin, Stratton and Flair came back out on the entrance brawling. The ending saw Tiffany Stratton climb to the top of the entrance screen and deliver a Swanton Bomb right on Flair and the WWE security personnel.
Lowlights
Cody Rhodes‘ Miz TV segment was expected to get more insight into Rhodes’ mindset, who is set to face John Cena, the man who shockingly turned heel, at WrestleMania 41. But he knocked down The Miz and just let Cena know that he will be on RAW next week if he wants to grace the fans with his presence.

Another lowlight was the abrupt ending of Damian Priest vs Shinsuke Nakamura. Drew McIntyre interfered to cause a disqualification and did an eye-gorg on Priest to beat him down. This was followed by both McIntyre and Nakamura took him out with their respective finishers.
