Best Match

The match that stole the show on WWE RAW this week was the main event showdown for the World Heavyweight Championship between the title holder, Jey Uso, and Gunther. The explosive rematch from WrestleMania 41 delivered yet another captivating match, which spilled all over the ringside and garnered loud ‘This is Awesome’ chants from fans.

As it came close towards its conclusion, Uso delivered a spear and went on to follow up with a Uso splash. However, The Ring General trapped him in the sleeper hold. Uso tried multiple attempts to break free, but ultimately passed out, and Gunther was crowned the new World Champion.

Worst Match

While it was totally not a worst match, the bout between Chad Gable and AJ Styles would be placed in this category for this week. Despite the prowess of both in-ring competitors, fans were not that much invested as they were in other matches, despite a huge win by Styles over Gable.

Noteworthy Moments

One of the prime highlights came during the opening segment of WWE RAW. Iconic rivals John Cena and CM Punk came face to face and had an exchange, taking the fans back to their historic rivalry years ago. At the conclusion of the segment, the duo agreed to one final battle for Cena’s Undisputed WWE Championship at the upcoming Night of Champions PLE in Saudi Arabia. Interestingly, the segment ended with the appearance of Mr Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins, who might have hinted at his cash-in plans.

Another highlight of the night was R-Truth’s first appearance after making his return at the Money in the Bank PLE. He came out and stood atop the announcer’s desk to reflect on the fans’ support, but announced that the truth had set him free. He then cut his hair and announced that he was now Ron Killings and asked the fans to put some respect in his name.

One more noteworthy moment was the opening round of the Queen of the Ring tournament. It was a Fatal 4-Way match and saw a stellar match go down on WWE RAW. As the dust settled, it was Roxanne Perez who emerged victorious over Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, and Kairi Sane to move on to the next round.

Similarly, for the men’s side, a highly chaotic and spectacular in-ring match in the King of the Ring tournament ended with an Underdog’s win. In the final moments, LA Knight came out to take down Bron Breakker, and Sami Zayn took advantage by delivering a Helluva Kick to Dominik Mysterio to win the match.

The last noteworthy moment was the return of Bayley since being attacked by Becky Lynch before WrestleMania 41. The new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion berated Lyra Valkyria, who came down to the ring, and Bayley jumped on The Man from behind to get some retribution.

Holy Sh!@ Moments

A jaw-dropping moment came during the return of hometown hero, Nikki Bella, who addressed the women’s locker room and WWE Evolution 2. She was confronted by Liv Morgan, who was not happy that Bella mentioned her among the top women. As tensions escalated, Morgan subtly referenced to her divorce, claiming that she had a man while Nikki did not.

One more Holy Sh!@ Moment came during the Fatal 4-way match in the King of the Ring tournament. It was Bron Breakker flying off the apron on top of Penta. This was moments before LA Knight appeared and took him out with a BFT.

Lowlights

In a backstage segment, The Judgment Day, including Dominik Mysterio, applauded Roxanne Perez’s victory earlier in the night. This did not sit well with Liv Morgan, who was visibly angry, especially with her Daddy Dom.

Another lowlight was the announcement of the return of Asuka, who has been out of action for more than a year. The Empress of Tomorrow will return to the ring next week on RAW.

What’s in store for WWE RAW next week

Two matches were announced for the King and Queen of the Ring tournament, respectively. On the men’s side, Sheamus, Rusev, Bronson Reed, and a mystery man will clash in the Fatal 4-way opening round match. Similarly, for the women, it will be Stephanie Vaquer, Ivy Nile, Raquel Rodriguez, and the returning Asuka mixing it up.
