It is time for our SmackDown results for November 22nd, 2024, and after last week’s ending, Roman Reigns is seeking a Wise Man.

Quick Results:
- Chelsea Green pins Blair Davenport to advance in the women’s United States Championship tournament. Bianca Belair was in too, but was distracted by a video showing her partner out cold on the windshield of a car in the back.
- LA Knight defeats Santos Escobar. Post-match, Shinsuke Nakamura appears and once again attacks the US Champ.
- Bayley and Naomi win, via DQ, over Candace LeRae and Tiffany Stratton. The DQ happened when Nia Jax interfered. The heel WarGames team came out to do damage, but Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY made the big save (mostly Rhea, but IYO tried).
Best Match:
I am going with the opening US title qualifier. Happy to see Chelsea Green moving toward a title shot. Just thinking out loud here…but if Green makes the finals, it’s in Long Island for SNME. And her husband is from LI, and wouldn’t he be there…
Worst Match:
No complaints. Everything served it’s purpose.
Noteworthy Moments:
Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens got to finally go promo to promo. Kevin vented, something he’d wanted to do for months. Cody shot back. When they lock horns, it should be a good one.
I dislike Chelsea’s slightly adjusted entrance theme. But I like how things worked out.
Holy Sh!@ Moments:
We have a minor “whodunnit” with Jade Cargill laid out on the hood and windshield of the car in the back. Given she’s one half of the tag champs, the suspect list isn’t likely to be too short.
But we saved the biggest for last. Since this was the last live SmackDown prior to WarGames, we got the big reveal. Paul Heyman spoke from the back, returning for the first time since he was put through the table. He spoke before Roman could, when Reigns was prepared to do battle four on five. Heyman said oh no, the math isn’t mathing.
And the fifth for the OG Bloodline? Paul Heyman went back in time and called in CM Punk. Big pop, as you would expect. It sets interesting things up for the coming months, too. Part of me wanted this to be held off until next Saturday evening.
Then again, part of me thought they’d either make sure he was all clear and go with Brock Lesnar (long time Paul Heyman guy). Or maybe give Bron Breakker a shot (someone who wants to be a Paul Heyman guy).

Lowlights:
There are some who won’t like Punk as the fifth, but the story is there. Heyman and Punk crossed paths a few months back, and Heyman asked Punk to take him with him, if you recall. So, it does work, and you do have to wonder if this was planned that far back. Lately I would say yes.
Highlights:
The women’s qualifiers were good.
Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes? Equally good.
Rhodes and Carmelo Hayes? Could be fun, could be starting a double turn with Rhodes looking bad?
Closing segment was superb. Maybe could have been better, there’s plenty to unpack there. We will have time to find out what happened to Heyman’s old phone. And why he didn’t introduce himself as the Wise Man.
And…how will Seth Rollins feel, considering he was asked and passed…but after RAW, would love another shot at Reed? He has no love lost for CM Punk either.
After The Final Bell:
Not that this was the go-home SmackDown, but knowing that next week’s SmackDown is being taped, I kind of took it as that. I like WWE giving the crews time off for things when they can, no issues there.
