It’s time for our SmackDown results for 12/20/24, and these should be fun because Santa Braun is coming to town!

Quick Results:
- Jacob Fatu, Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga defeated Apollo Crews, LA Knight and Andrade
- Carmelo Hayes defeated Braun Strowman via count out
- Johnny Gargano defeated Alex Shelley
- Bianca Belair and Naomi successfully defended the women’s tag titles, defeating Candice LeRae and Nia Jax.
Best Match:
The women’s tag title match was really good. So too was Gargano versus Shelley. I wouldn’t argue with either being the top choice.
Worst Match:
I explain more of why it’s here later, but Braun Strowman versus Carmelo Hayes was it for me this week.
Noteworthy Moments:
Carmelo got his revenge, and quickly. Nothing against Braun Strowman, but Hayes is supposed to be “the future” and should be getting more wins than losses at this stage.
DIY got themselves some new, and more fitting, theme music.
The TNA love from WWE continues, with Cole acknowledging Shelley previously holding the IMPACT World Championship.
Kevin Owens, the self-appointed champion? He is DEFINITELY on some naughty lists.
Holy Sh!@ Moments:
Drew McIntyre can’t stand Solo, but he wants Sikoa to take out Roman Reigns before battling McIntyre. Enemy of my enemy is my friend, I suppose?
Lowlights:
While I know it is progressing this brief feud, I disliked Melo needing to beat Strowman via count out. I remember when some had him pegged as a big future champion…so get him a legit pinfall over Strowman, please?
Highlights:
I am kind of digging the progression of Drew’s program. He’s a unique ‘tweener, in the sense that when he attacks Roman’s guys? He’s a heel. But fans wanted him to destroy Solo Sikoa tonight. I saw someone suggest this elsewhere, though I cannot remember who or where…but I’d support votes for McIntyre for performer of the year. His work has been superb.

After The Final Bell:
And with that, no more SmackDown until after Christmas. And this was also one of the last SmackDown episodes that will go a mere two hours, with the show expanding to three in the new year.
Hope everyone has a happy and enjoyable Christmas if that is your thing!
