Quick Results:
- American Made defeat Alpha Academy in a six person mixed tag match. Post-match, Chad Gable challenges the Wyatt Sicks to an eight person mixed tag team street fight next week, which Uncle Howdy seemed to accept.
- Shayna Baszler defeats Zelina Vega. Post match, the heels beat down Vega. Lyra Valkyria attempts to make the save, but the numbers aren’t in their favor.
- Ilja Dragunov defeats Dragon Lee and Dominik Mysterio to earn himself a spot in the Intercontinental Championship #1 contenders fatal fourway. Mysterio ran away when Damian Priest came out to take care of Carlito, making it a de facto one on one match.
- Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn defeat Damage CTRL to become new #1 Contenders for the tag titles that they just lost. Scary bump by Kairi Sane toward the end, as she busted herself open hitting her face on the edge of the announce desk.
- Braun Strowman wins the final IC fatal fourway qualifier. He took Bronson Reed’s spot, as Reed came down with COVID. Pete Dunne interfered to eliminate Sheamus, opening up the door for Braun.
- Damian Priest and Jey Uso defeat Finn Balor and JD McDonagh
Best Match
I enjoyed the main event. It was fun, it was a train wreck, and it sent us home happy, so to speak. But the best match on this show was, without a doubt, the triple threat that devolved into a one on one bout between Ilja Dragunov and Dragon Lee. Superb match.
Worst Match
The last Intercontinental fatal fourway qualifier. Was it bad? No. It was fine for what it was, but I don’t feel like Strowman winning was the right call. Sheamus obviously has a story, chasing the lone WWE title he’s never held. Putting him in the fatal fourway would have been easy. Ludwig Kaiser is on the rise, so giving him a spot in that final would be a good call too. The only thing I can figure? Because Dunne interfered, Sheamus is going to return the favor next week to cost Pete. I can’t expect Reed to arrive and take Strowman out, because who knows how sick he is or is not. For my money, I would have thought of putting someone else in other than Braun, but I write for this site versus WWE.
Noteworthy Moments
The Joe Tessitore era of RAW announcing is here. I’ve heard him on plenty of other events, so I was curious about the hire when WWE announced it. After the first show? He started off not so great (not a fan of the opening segment) but he grew on me. You can tell a couple things. He’s new calling pro wrestling, but he’s also a pro and can call action. I have a hunch he won’t be a fish out of water too long.
I laughed when Sonya commented that there wasn’t a man in the audience who could take them home.
After being outnumbered, Lyra and Zelina weren’t going to give up. Valkyria noted that they were in Calgary next week, and she had an idea. Feels like a massive hint at a Natalya return. But, something also tells me we could see a heel turn? Because Nattie and Shayna have a history, so adding her to Pure Fusion Collective could be something interesting.
Holy S@#$ Moments
Just when Punk told us his feud with Drew McIntyre was over? Drew told Punk it was not. For the second time in a few months, it was Drew sending Punk out of the arena on a stretcher. I feel like if WWE are smart about that (and they may be) we will get either a Last Man Standing or an ambulance/stretcher match at Bad Blood.
I dig the Jey/Mami/Damian fun from tonight. Forgetting that Rikishi doesn’t like it, Jey seems fine with it and it could be fun. I am looking forward to seeing where things go, for sure.

Lowlights
If anything, I would say that no matches were made-yet-for Bad Blood. Not much to dislike. Oh, yes, I wasn’t loving the opening of the show, but it was a way to introduce Tessitore. No idea if it was a one off, or if that’s going to be a new thing (for now, because when RAW hits Netflix, I expect change again).
Highlights
I enjoy Damian being on a redemption arc similar to Jey Uso. I just hope Jey can finally get his singles gold. The main event was fun, both fatal fourway qualifiers were fun, one was my match of the night. The season premiere of RAW is next week in Calgary, so there should be a surprise or two coming our way.
After The Final Bell
We have a big few weeks ahead for all of WWE. Next week, all three shows are on USA, as RAW lives there for a few more months and SmackDown lands there next Friday. NXT is hanging around for a few more weeks, so we can enjoy a single channel home for a little bit. The season premiere is coming our way and I figure at least one Hart family connection will show up next week. Punk and McIntyre aren’t done, Sami wants another round with Gunther, Priest has a friend in Jey. Lots to enjoy from this week.
