Knoxville, TN Mayor Glenn Jacobs, AKA Kane, wants to chokeslam Minnesota Governor Tim Walz? Yes, but for charity.
WWE legend Kane will go down as one of the greatest big men in professional wrestling history. Like many from his era, he had to go through a couple of terrible gimmicks — Dr. Isaac Yankem being the worst — before he eventually was given the role of The Undertaker’s brother Kane.
Jacobs made the most of the opportunity. And put together a career that will be remembered by a few generations of wrestling fans. However, after he brought his run in the ring to an end, he went on to have a successful political career in Knoxville, TN. He has been the mayor of the town since 2018 and has become a useful advocate for various Republican candidates for local and federal offices. Including current US President Donald Trump.
Kane is a proud member of the MAGA movement and it has led to some verbal clashes with politicians on the other side of the aisle. It seems that now he wants to take it beyond just strong language and is looking to get in the ring with one of them after a bold hot take this week.
Kane challenges Governor Tim Walz to a charity wrestling match
During an appearance on the new podcast from California Governor Gavin Newsom, his Minnesota counterpart Tim Walz offered up a bold statement about MAGA Republicans.
“I think I could kick most of their a**,” Walz said. “I don’t know if I could outrun them, but I don’t know if we’re going to fall into that place where we want to go, okay, we challenge you to a WWE fight here.”
The comment quickly earned a response from the WWE legend. “Everyone is always asking me if I have one last match left. I think I have found my final victim, er, I mean opponent,” the man once known as Kane wrote on X.
A day later, the WWE Hall of Famer took things a bit further but also added a humanitarian tilt to the situation.
“All joking aside, @GovTimWalz, let’s put our money where our mouth is…in a charity wrestling match,” Kane wrote in a post on X. “We’ll split the gate 50/50 between our chosen organizations. I’ll kick things off myself with a $10,000 donation. What do you say?”
It certainly is an interesting idea and would be great if it could happen. Unfortunately, it is highly unlikely.
