Wade Barrett is one of those Superstars who, in all seriousness, could still be going today (I think) but for one reason or another, is not. Bad News Barrett was a fun one, a heel that anyone could appreciate. We got to know him first through NXT and the Nexus. Along the way, he’s held the King of the Ring honor as well as the Intercontinental Championship. Most recently, and currently, he serves as a WWE television broadcaster (right now, on RAW).
Could he wrestle again
In the past couple months, we’ve seen Barrett and friend Drew McIntyre get ever so slightly physical. Their on air interaction has led some fans to question if Drew might be about to have some Bad News in his life. For his part as a commentator, Barrett has sure sounded like he is happy with retirement and has no desire to return. But does everyone believe that?
WWE Hall of Famer JBL does not. Speaking on the Huge Pop podcast, JBL spoke about Barrett and his options. Specifically, the former champion (and commentator) said that he does think Wade Barrett will return in the future. He said that the RAW commentator is still young and in great shape (Barrett is 44). If the urge is there, JBL thinks he should. As one half of the APA pointed out-he has all the time in the world to sit at the announce desk. He does not have all the time in the world to wrestle.

So, it is entirely possible that JBL is right. Perhaps these recent interactions between Barrett and McIntyre is laying the ground work for another match. Maybe it’s laying the foundation for a larger return, not just a single match. JBL would know a thing or two about leaving the announce position and returning to the ring-he did it too. So, one notable name says Wade Barrett wrestles again. What do you think?
