WWE Champion Surprisingly Expected to Be Left Out of WrestleMania 41

With WrestleMania 41 just days away, most of the big titles are being defended on the card. But one champion is missing entirely — and as of now, there’s no spot for her.

Chelsea Green, the WWE Women’s United States Champion, is not scheduled to compete at WrestleMania 41. While Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria will be in a tag match with Bayley, Green’s title  has been left off the card altogether.

Despite being the first ever Woman’s U.S. Champion, Green’s absence from the Grandest stage of them all has fans and insiders scratching their heads. Green last defended the U.S. title on TV in early March and has been appearing at WWE live events.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Green was not included in the plans as of last week. “Fightful inquired with WWE sources about the title or Green for Mania and were told as of last week she was not scheduled for the show,” the report said.

The update continued, “There were a couple of pitches for her to host the show, but as of this past weekend, there was nothing there. When we asked sources near creative, we were told once the show is formatted out, it’s possible a skit or segment could be added. But as of each of the last two times we’d asked that wasn’t the case.”

The report also claimed there were internal discussions to have her host WrestleMania, but it looks unlikely.

Green has reportedly also been actively seeking a spot at WrestleMania 41 and proposed matches against WWE Hall of Famers like Nikki Bella and Michelle McCool. She even suggested a Hair vs. Hair match with Bella recently. Despite her efforts, it looks like Green will not have a match at WrestleMania 41.
