It’s a major event, so will retired AEW star Sting make an appearance at the 2024 edition of All In?

Early in 2024, former WCW and WWE performer Sting wrestled his last match. He went out alongside Darby Allin for what would be his last match (probably). The pair retained the AEW tag team titles, which were then subsequently surrendered. I’d have rather seen AEW allow the pair to name a replacement for Sting, but it is what it is.
Since then, we presume that the industry veteran is largely enjoying his retirement once again. He’s even reportedly taking a trip to London, which is nice this time of year. Except, it’s also once again the host city for AEW All In. And per a report from Fightful, Sting will be in London for the event.
But why?
According to the report, Sting has told people close to him that he will indeed be making the trip to London, in conjunction with the All In event. What has not been clarified or revealed? Will Sting be there as a fan, or will Sting be there to make an appearance? On one hand, an event like All In is a significant event for AEW. As with WWE PLE, the company wants to give fans in the area a great experience. That sometimes means having all sorts of AEW ambassadors working events, media and such. And who better to be out greeting fans than Sting?

We have not seen him since he retired, but perhaps AEW has some on screen, non-wrestling role in mind for the WWE Hall of Famer? The two sides are believed to have maintained a strong relationship. And with Allin training his former partner’s sons to see if they can follow in dad’s footsteps, it would seem likely that it remains a strong one. Not saying we will see a Sting appearance or involvement in a match, but I don’t think you bring him in to London just to shake hands. We will know soon enough what, if anything, retired Sting is doing at All In.
