Former NXT North American champion Velveteen Dream believes he is owed an apology by wrestling fans and wants them to help him get the attention of WWE head of creative Triple H.
“The reality: A lot of you owe me an apology for dragging me thru the mud,” Patrick Clark, FKA Velveteen Dream wrote in an Instagram story this week. “Knowing 5 years later here I stand still free and without a single charge. But I get it. It’s very hard for people to admit when they were wrong and malicious. But hey that’s wrestling.”
After seeming on a trajectory to be a future star on the main roster, Dream was released in 2021 following an investigation by the company on allegations of sexually harassing children. As he mentioned in his post this week, he was never charged with any crime. But the public relations fallout was likely something the company did not want to deal with at the time.
He has been back on the independent wrestling seen in recent months as he tries to fix his terribly damaged reputation. And for the fans that do support him, he is hoping they assist him in trying to get back to WWE.
“If you love me like you say you love me, the boss’s (HHH/HBK), pay attention to social media. It’s simple, #WeWantTheDream,” he wrote in another story. “And spam Triple H and WWE. They will hear you! We can make enough noise to drown out the lies and hate.”
