It has been close to a year now since Charlotte Flair suffered a devastating major knee injury. It was a scenario where, basically, if you could tear it, she did. What that meant is she wasn’t looking at that 4 to 6 month window we are so used to hearing relative to ACL tears. No, for Flair, the timeline was much less clear. It was also much more prolonged. And considering we are about 10 months post-injury, is she nearing a return to WWE action?
No Charlotte Flair WWE return yet
We have seen whispers in recent weeks and months about her expected return feud. Having Flair go after the current top female Superstar on SmackDown in Nia Jax makes a lot of sense. There is also the long-awaited Flair-Tiffany Stratton interaction which should result from that as well. These just make sense, no one is disputing that. According to Fightful, in an update that dropped late Sunday evening, while those plans may have been rumored or kicked around? Nothing is planned.

There is currently no (announced) target return date for Flair. When she underwent surgery and began rehab, going back to early 2024, most did not expect a return this year to be likely. While there are those who have said that if anyone could beat that timeframe it would be Charlotte, it seems unlikely. At some points this year, feedback had her ahead of schedule. However, in mid-September, Fightful’s sources do not expect Charlotte Flair returning in 2024.
Honestly, if I were WWE? I would go radio silent with Flair. Fans know Charlotte Flair is making an in ring WWE return eventually. Why not at the 2025 Royal Rumble? Of course, assuming that timeline works out for her clearances.
