She recently had a WWE Legends feature air, and now we have an update on Becky Lynch’s WWE status after her A&E special.

Much was said about it as we approached it. Becky Lynch, one of the top WWE Superstars, had an expiring contract in 2024. She was one of a number of talents who had, or have, an expiring contract in calendar year 2024. Her husband Seth Rollins has re-signed. Randy Orton recently extended things. Other big names have mostly re-signed. But a few have seen contracts end, free to go elsewhere.
Lych was a slam dunk, sure-thing to come back, right? You’d think so, but it does take two to tango. While WWE was absolutely game to bring back their Irish Lass Kicker, she had other plans. Specifically, Lynch was content to allow her contract to expire. As things stand, she is a free agent but enjoying her first time off in a long time. Of course, as that A&E special aired, Lynch posted something that made people think she was retired-which, as far as all involved know, she is not.
Becky Lynch’s Status?
Lynch, on the heels of that troll job during the WWE Legends special (on which plenty of active talents have appeared), gave an interview to talk about life in 2024. She knows that she is or could be a hot free agent, but she doesn’t seem to care about it. Per The Man, the last three years for her have been among the most intense. Busy at work, she made things harder by both having a daughter and writing her autobiography. She really hasn’t had anything but chaos for the better part of those three years. Now, she is enjoying staying at home, being a mom and just slowing down.

Based on so many factors, I really doubt she would ever entertain AEW money. I could be wrong, but she seems like one that just won’t leave. What I could see? Lynch staying on the sidelines until Survivor Series, or maybe even the 2025 Royal Rumble. Right now, the WWE women’s division is thriving. Plenty of depth, a few international signings heading to NXT soon, and several big names on the verge of returns. Which means right now, there isn’t any real urgency for WWE to beg Lynch back. She can and should take her time. So, do you think Becky Lynch an her WWE status changes before the year is up?
