After 10 years away from pro wrestling, former WWE superstar and transgender wrestler Gabbi Tuft made a big return; with huge plans also set.

Being respectful to her, we had never seen Gabbi Tuft wrestle a match in her life. We had seen Tyler Reks, as he is a former WWE Superstar. In case you’ve been missing what we’ve been putting out, Reks transitioned in recent years, embracing her true self in the process. Through her journey, she has built an amazing following, and along the way Tuft got the itch to wrestle again. This was no small decision, primarily not because of her transition.
Rather, Tuft underwent a significant heart procedure just a few years back. Because of what had been done, she has been very clear about needing to be cleared by all the right doctors, just because her stepping into the ring may carry some additional risks. And, she reported last year that she had indeed been cleared. At one point she even shared clips of her training with fellow former WWE Superstar Dustin Runnels. It was clear she wanted back into the ring, but would she get a chance?
She should!
AEW already has at least two open wrestlers in Nyla Rose and Sonny Kiss. There is a reputation there that Tuft would surely be welcomed. WWE is more a question, though I would be a major supporter of the move as one that is long overdue. But, before she can get back to the big time she once knew, she needs to get back into the ring. And, she has now done just that.
She had announced that she would be working a match with West Coast Pro, and that match has now happened. The promotion gave her a main event spot and she and her opponent garnered “this is awesome” chants. Plus, she got an extended promo and spoke of her big plans for the future. To some she may be controversial, but she was and is a talented in-ring performer. If she shows she can still go, I’d hope one of the big companies gets her on television before too long.
