There have been a few heel turns that have seemed imminent, and one finally happened. On the September 30th RAW, we got a big surprise return by R-Truth. Truth, as he has done, interrupted the Miz and Braun Strowman, just as Miz wanted to have a heart to heart with the Monster of all Monsters. Instead, R-Truth told Miz that he got them a match against AoP that night. We’ve yet to hear what The Miz wanted to say to Braun, but he was able to express himself to Truth. Miz tagged in, took out Truth and left him to be defeated by the Authors of Pain. Fitting, considering Karrion Kross has been playing with Miz’s mind of late.

But why did Miz turn

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray Dudley believes he knows why WWE turned Miz heel. He shared his view on one of his recent radio shows. And it isn’t just to have a program with R-Truth, or even to have one at all. Yes, after turning on his tag team partner, it is reasonable to expect the two to feud. But Dudley believes WWE turned Miz back to heel to work a program with someone needing a boost-Bron Breakker. Now, when I say boost, I mean it like this. Bron just wrapped up a reign as the Intercontinental Champion. That’s mid-card. On RAW this week, after congratulating Jey Uso, Breakker had a confrontation with GUNTHER, admiring his world title in the process.

Bully Ray’s thinking is that WWE might have plans to give Breakker a nice upper card program with newly minted heel Miz. Doing so could allow Miz to help further elevate the rising Superstar’s status within the company, priming him for a possible world title shot (or more). If so, the move would make a ton of sense. Say what you might about The Miz, but he’s one of the best workers of his generation. He can certainly do what is needed to help Bron Breakker-or any other Superstar-look really good.
