New Rumor Is More Bad News For Steve Austin Fans Hoping For His Return At Debut Episode of WWE Raw On Netflix

It’s going to be a big night, but a report indicates that Stone Cold Steve Austin will not be at the RAW Netflix debut.

At the risk of being overly hyperbolic, it is going to be one of the biggest episodes of RAW ever. It may in fact be the biggest one ever. Time will tell.

But on January 6, 2025, RAW hits Netflix, and WWE is planning to bring in quite a few big names to make sure fans have a night to remember. We’ve long known that John Cena will kick off his retirement tour on the premiere of RAW on Netflix. It was recently confirmed that The Rock will also take part in the show.

Recent news indicated that legendary and controversial WWE icon Hulk Hogan may also be a part of the plans. However, that is unfortunately not the case when it comes to rumors of a potential “Stone Cold” Steve Austin appearance.

According to a post on X, Stone Cold Steve Austin had been planned for the debut edition of RAW on Netflix. The operative word here, of course, is “had”. Per the report, plans have changed and he is not expected to appear on Monday Night Raw tonight.

If this holds true, and we close out the first RAW without “Stone Cold” Steve Austin it would mark the second significant WWE show in the past year that Austin had been planned or discussed for but then did not appear. Austin had originally been considered for the spot which went to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 40.

Of course, the report may be wrong, and we will hear glass shattering in Los Angeles. Or, it may be correct and it’s just a matter of bad timing. Then again, perhaps someone in WWE would save the Hall of Famer for WrestleMania?

Regardless, the RAW On Netflix debut is fixing to be among the biggest shows in WWE history.
