Stone Cold Steve Austin Offer Update On Potential Return to Help Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41

Cody Rhodes had a difficult road to WrestleMania last year to ‘Finish The Story’ and win his first WWE Championship. This year, “The American Nightmare” finds himself in a similar situation. Rhodes refused to sell out to The Rock at the 2025 WWE Elimination Chamber PLE. This was then followed by his WrestleMania 41 opponent, John Cena, shocking the world by turning heel and attacking him.

Cena’s stunning change of heart was part of a new alliance with The Rock. With two powerful foes standing in his path, speculation has emerged of The Rock’s most iconic rival, Stone Cold Steve Austin returning to WWE TV to help Rhodes in his war. Especially since he was rumored to make an appearance at WrestleMania 40 last year.

Well, “The Texas Rattlesnake” was asked about that possibility this week in an interview with MMA personality The Schmo this week.

“Hey, I haven’t been in contact with anybody, so I guess anything could happen,” Austin said. “But I’m here to run the Mint 400 and that’s what my sights are set on. I’m not looking to Mania. I’m looking to the Mint 400. I got a brand new left knee, trying here to do my first race back. So I’m gonna go out there and kick ass and see if I can do as well as I can.”

Stone Cold Steve Austin last appeared as part of WrestleMania 38. He wrestled his first match in 19 years in a winning effort against Kevin Owens in night one of the 2023 event. The Bionic Redneck proved that he still had it to go inside the squared circle.

With The Rock and John Cena looking to make Cody Rhodes’ life a living hell, it certainly would be fitting if Steve Austin made a surprise return to thwart his old enemy’s sinister efforts.
