The Netflix debut of RAW had an ugly moment for Hulk Hogan, leading to us wonder could WWE bring back “Hollywood Hogan?”
The first RAW of the Netflix era was made up to be a huge deal. Stars were brought in. Superstars from all brands were present. Legends returned. All was great, right? While there is no denying Hulk Hogan’s impact on WWE and wrestling history, we also can’t deny that in recent years he has been a polarizing figure.

He’s had plenty of off-screen issues, with accusations of racism and his legal battles among them. And, while some agree with his position, many do not relate to his political views.
So Hulk Hogan was announced for Netflix and his and WWE’s new All American Beer endeavor were featured. But when he made it out to the arena the wrestling legend was showered with boos the likes of which he probably hasn’t heard since his New World Order days.
Fightful reported that Hogan was said to be surprised and disappointed with the reaction, but did his best to brush it off backstage.

On social, fans suggested WWE lean into it and use this to bring back “Hollywood Hogan.” Per the report, WWE officials weren’t concerned with getting an aged veteran over. And some involved in the process warned of a possibly strong negative reaction to Hogan. Others even suggested using a current talent to pitch the beer, using Hogan’s name only.
Now? The situation is in flux. On one hand, WWE can pivot, and “Hollywood Hogan” could work out. On the other? There is likely no unwinding things, as it is a new partnership that only just started. I do suppose WWE could restrict Hogan’s television appearances to overseas shows, where he may have less heat with fans.
