Jey Uso’s father, WWE great Rikishi, is not a fan of how his son has been booked on the road to one of the biggest events of the year, SummerSlam.

We are just a week away from the top wrestling event of the summer, and many major matchups are already lined up for the August 3rd premium live event. Cody Rhodes will be defending his WWE world title against new Bloodline leader Solo Sikoa. And Gunther will challenge for Damian Priest’s World Heavyweight belt.

Those are just two of the major matches set for SummerSlam 2024. However, one popular performer who does not seem to have a match yet on the card is legendary tag team wrestler Jey Uso. The Raw star has become one of the most beloved characters on the brand, and he surprisingly does not have a match scheduled at the event.

Instead, he has served as a tool to add to the ongoing love triangle featuring Dominick Mysterio, Rhea Ripley, and Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. That storyline that has hinted at Uso as a potential love interest for Ripley does not sit well with his father, former WWE star Rikishi.

Rikishi rips into recent booking for his son Jey Uso

“Summerslam, where’s he at? I don’t know, let’s write him in that he likes Mami. Mami? Rikishi said on his “Rikishi Fatu Off the Top” podcast this week. “That’s the best that those writers got? Let’s write this guy into a relationship with Mami? What are you trying to do, break his marriage up?

“Y’all can’t put him in a good storyline, so what are you gonna do now? God forbid you guys try to tell him or tell her, ‘Tongue kiss each other on RAW.’ S***. That better not happen.”

After a major hot streak following WrestleMania 40 in April, Uso’s push has cooled of late. However, he might also be getting lined up for potential inclusion in a potential Bloodline civil war later this year.
