New Reports Reveal Length Of Randy Orton And Swerve Strickland’s New WWE And AEW Contracts

A pair of new reports reveal major details on the contract extension Randy Orton and Swerve Strickland recently signed with WWE and AEW.

Randy Orton and Swever Strickland are two of the top names in their respective companies. Both are at very different points in their careers. However, it has not changed the perception WWE and AEW have about them. And both recently received contract extensions from their current employers because they are each so valuable.

Strickland made headlines before last week’s AEW All In pay-per-view when he signed an extension on camera with boss Tony Khan. Despite reportedly having over a year left on his deal, the promotion wanted to lock the former world champion up for the foreseeable future.

This week, Fightful Select reported that Swerve Strickland’s previous contract would have ended in March of 2025. However, after signing an extension, his revised deal will now run through 2028. It means that AEW will have key members of the roster like MJF, Strickland, Will Ospreay, and Kazuchika Okada locked into deals for the next few years.

After a year away from the company, WWE legend Randy Orton made his triumphant return at Survivor Series last year. “The Viper” underwent spinal fusion surgery early in 2023 and there was speculation that his time in the industry could be limited. Especially since the 44-year-old already had over 20 years of wear and tear on his body before such a serious surgery.

However, on Friday during an event in Germany to hype Saturday’s Bash in Berlin card, Orton revealed the length of a new contract extension he recently signed with the only company he has ever worked for.

“I just signed a five-year extension to my contract,” he said. “I feel better than I’ve felt in over a decade. I want that [world heavyweight] title — and I want to be a 15-time world champion, and then a 16-time world champion, and even a 17-time world champion. And set yet another record here in the WWE.”

Orton will headline Bash in Berlin when he faces reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. The event airs exclusively on Peacock.
