It was a busy night in the WWE Performance Center to wrap up an exciting month of April. The brand had already seen a number of talents drafted to RAW or SmackDown. Tuesday also served as the finale to Spring Breakin’. Fans knew ahead of time that longtime Superstar Natalya would be on the show. She was taking on Lola Vice in a first-a women’s NXT Underground match. Natalya took the loss in the clash, but by taking part in the first of it’s kind match, she adds to a seriously impressive resume. She is, without a doubt, a future Hall of Famer. For their efforts, it was reported by Fightful that both women got a standing ovation when they reached the backstage area.
That’s not all
But that was not the only history to be brought up on Tuesday. Before the show, run sheets had Alundra Blayze taking part in NXT. That wouldn’t have been a huge shock, as she was just involved in the Draft events. Except, instead of the WWE Hall of Famer, it was a placeholder for Michin Mia Yim. You see, NXT recently announced that there will be an NXT Women’s North American Champion. And, because whomever wins it would be first ever, Michin wants to make history and be that one. Such a momentous win would go a long way toward helping Mia Yim build an impressive resume all her own.
Of course, Yim broke into WWE by way of NXT and enjoyed a bit of success the first time around. Then she got swept into Retribution, though her mask fooled no one. Perhaps this will be her chance to really distance herself from that, much like fellow alum Dijak has done. Either way, for both Natalya and Mia Yim, it was a big night at the Performance Center.
