Becky Lynch came back to WWE at WrestleMania 41 after a lengthy hiatus and quickly began a new rivalry with countrywoman Lyra Valkyria. And the women’s IC champ added some fuel to their feud in a new interview.
The Man lost a Steel Cage match to Liv Morgan in May 2024 on an episode of Monday Night RAW. Following that, Lynch went on an extended break. Almost a year later, she returned to WWE at WrestleMania 41. Despite being one of the most influential figures in professional wrestling, Lynch’s hiatus was not received well by some. One of them, oddly enough, we fellow Ireland native Lyra Valkyira.
“She liked being the idol. Even as far back as NXT, she was very helpful and gave a lot of advice. Then when she came down to NXT later, she liked being the one who was in the higher position. And then I came up to the main roster, and that advice and that warmth just disappeared,” she said in a conversation with The Takedown. “And then I started to do a lot of cool things, and she took some time off. I defended this title more than she’s been at work this past year.”

“But look, Becky’s great. She’s talked herself into every opportunity she’s ever had, no matter who that hurts. That’s what she’s always been good at. I don’t think she likes that I’m now on the same platform, and you saw on Monday that I’m not going to be stood on. I’m not here to be a super fan,” said Valkyria.
Becky Lynch teamed with Lyra Valkyria at WrestleMania 41 to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles from Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. However, the duo lost the titles back to the Judgment Day duo on the RAW after WrestleMania. Following that, Lynch turned on Valkyria and cemented her heel turn.
Last week on RAW, “The Man” revealed herself to be the attacker of Valkyria’s original WrestleMania partner, Bayley. Moreover, she slithered her way into getting Valkyria to grant her a WWE Women’s Intercontinental title match at the upcoming WWE Backlash event. With the stage set for this weekend’s PLE, it will be an exciting showdown between two of Ireland’s best in-ring performers.
