There have been signs of discontent from the team and now we have the latest on the Street Profits WWE status.

It has been a long time since the Street Profits have held tag team gold. And if we think about it long and hard, it’s been a while since Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have been really valued and featured strongly (at least in my opinion). Yes, we’ve seen them plenty on television. Sure, they’ve had their share of matches. But they have been overlooked-a lot-in the tag team division for a while. And while acts like Awesome Truth and A-Town Down Under got title reigns in 2024? There has not been one for the Street Profits. No one is disputing the credentials of a team like the Motor City Machine Guns. But it can’t feel great to see them come in and basically immediately become tag champs.
So what’s going on with the Street Profits WWE status

On top of knowing the Profits may not be happy with things, there is the belief that their WWE contracts may be soon expiring. The discontent could be real, or it could be a work. But even going back to Ford’s parts in he and his wife’s reality show indicate he wasn’t thrilled with where he was and the progress he had not made. And that was a year ago. Ford and Dawkins have expressed frustration on-screen, which to me is surely planned. That part makes me suspect a heel turn, which wouldn’t be the worst thing. A change of attitude could be a good thing, the breath of fresh air they need. WWE did try it before when the duo was linked with MVP. But back then, fan support wouldn’t let the heel turn fly.

Fightful reached out to both the Street Profits and WWE for comments on their situation, and got very little insight. It is entirely possible that the team have re-signed and that the brooding and bitterness is a sign of a darker Street Profits yet to come. Either way, the pair do have a tag title shot on this week’s SmackDown. That alone should be a good sign, but may mean very little. Considering that at one point, Ford’s gravity defying moves made many expect he was a future WWE singles star, it’s hard to believe things might be falling apart.
