Two-time WWE Hall-of-Famer Kevin Nash says fans need to stop the recent Cody Rhodes heel talk, and he has one pretty good and logical reason why.
In April at WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes finally finished the story. After a year’s build, and the involvement of the “Final Boss” version of The Rock, John Cena, and The Undertaker, he was able to achieve his long-time dream and win the WWE title for his family.
However, some fans are never satisfied, and for no good reason, there has been more speculation than ever before about Rhodes turning heel. It is a surprising conversation barely a month into his title reign but it has been the source of wrestling industry news in recent weeks. But WWE and WCW legend Kevin Nash says fans need to knock off that chatter.
During a new edition of his “Kliq This” podcast, “Big Sexy” explained why a turn for “The American Nightmare” makes no sense right now, and for one good reason.
Kevin Nash says Cody Rhodes has made WWE too much money to turn heel
“He sold a million dollars of merchandise at WrestleMania, he’s clearly the hottest entity you have, and as I said in the last episode, he’s the only guy that has that work ethic that the guys had in our era,” Nash said (h/t Wrestling Inc). “He’s signing two, three, four hundred belts … it will work if you put a heel factory against him.”
Developing that heel factory will be key in keeping Rhodes’ run entertaining and the money pouring in for WWE in the months ahead. Two-time WWE champion AJ Styles was the first product of the creative team’s efforts toward giving the current champion a notable foe this past week at WWE Backlash: France.
