John Cena has only limited dates to wrestle on his farewell tour. Among a huge pool of WWE superstars who are possibly eyeing one last match with him, Cena has outrightly turned down any possibility of a rematch with Randy Orton.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, The Unseen 17 spoke about his iconic rivalry with fellow legend Randy Orton. Cena made it clear that their match at WWE Backlash PLE was their last in-ring encounter, ending their 25-year-long feud.

“On the WWE side, we’re just taking them one at a time. We did our last one in St. Louis. I had my last match with Randy Orton, and that was pretty cool to call, kinda put a close on that 25-year rivalry,” he said. “So, it’s, you know, as every chapter happens, it’s a different feeling for everyone.”
Cena defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 to win his record-setting 17th World Championship. On the following edition of RAW, Orton snuck from behind and took Cena out with an RKO, reigniting their feud. This led to their one last showdown in WWE at the 2025 Backlash Premium Live Event.
The match captivated the audience in St. Louis. The highly chaotic main event match ended with John Cena hitting a low-blow on Randy Orton and nailing him with a belt shot to retain his Undisputed WWE Championship.
Moreover, Cena was visibly teared up as he was leaving the ring. This was possibly due to the realisation that WWE Backlash was the last time he wrestled his longtime rival. The 17-time WWE Champion will next compete at the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event next week against R-Truth.
