John Cena’s Next Scheduled Appearance May Hint At Huge Change to Cement Heel Turn

John Cena has done the unthinkable in his last run in professional wrestling. The Cenation Leader’s farewell tour brought him to the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada, the site for the WWE Elimination Chamber 2025 Premium Live Event.

To the shock of the massive crowd, the 16-time World Champion sold his soul to the “Final Boss,” The Rock, after Cody Rhodes rejected his offer. This came after John Cena won the 2025 Men’s Elimination Chamber to earn the right to challenge Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title at WrestleMania 41.

John Cena is next advertised to appear on the March 17th, 2025 edition of Monday Night RAW. The date has huge relevance in regards to a change in Cena’s personality. Back in 2005, Cena slowly ascended to the main event scene and moved away from his Doctor of Thuganomics character.

As noted by a fan on X, it was March 17th, 2005, that Cena debuted his popular theme song “The Time is Now.” That was a move from his popular song, “Word Life” used as part of his Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick. Moreover, “The Time is Now” is one of the most iconic WWE theme songs and is an important part of Cena’s babyface character.

But now that Cena has abandoned the principles of Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect and turned heel, a deja vu scenario can happen. John Cena’s next appearance will mark twenty years to the day of the debut of the theme song. So, there is a huge possibility that the same can happen when Cena returns to RAW for the first time since turning heel.

As the WWE Universe still processes Cena’s heinous actions at Elimination Chamber, it will be interesting to see his road to WrestleMania moving forward.
