Jey Uso has a massive opportunity to become a world champion at WrestleMania 41 this weekend, and surprisingly, it could be one of his last appearances at the April spectacle.
Uso’s rise to main event status is one of the best stories in WWE over the last two years. And his journey comes to a head this weekend when he faces World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at WrestleMania 41. However, according to Uso, he doesn’t have many more ‘Manias left in him.
“I’m on the end of my career,” Uso told The Ringer Wrestling Show this week. “I feel like it. I still got a couple of years left. I still feel strong. But this is the first time I kind of felt the years catching up. I just think I’m getting older, man. I’ll be 40 in August.”
Could Jey Uso really retire in a few years?

It could be argued that 40 is right in the middle of “wrestler prime.” Several elite WWE stars, such as Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes, are all in that age range and in their best versions. However, one half of the legendary Usos tag team has been in the company for a very long time.
Jimmy and Jey Uso joined the WWE main roster all the way back in 2010. So the World Heavyweight title challenger has 15 years of miles on his body. He has also likely made millions in recent years due to his run in the Bloodline and his singles success over the last two years. If he has managed his money correctly, retiring in a couple of years is completely possible for him financially.
This generation of talent has heard all the stories about how the industry can destroy a performer’s body. It makes sense if they want to get out early and avoid numerous surgeries in retirement.
