Jeff Hardy very much wants one more feud with CM Punk in WWE. And the wrestling legend has a wild idea to make it far different than their original go around.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, multi-time world champion Jeff Hardy was one of the most beloved performers in WWE. However, his demons away from the ring derailed a pair of stints in the company and a chance at an even more legendary career.
Now, at 47 years old and near the end of his wrestling career, Hardy has not hidden his interest in having a third and final run in the company. While he is having a strong second stint in TNA, every former WWE star yearns for one last run in the No. 1 company before they call it a career.
During an interview last month, Jeff Hardy revealed another match with one of his greatest WWE rivals, CM Punk, would be a dream final run scenario for him. However, in a new chat with Chris Van Vliet, the tag team legend expanded on the idea with a proposal long-time wrestling fans won’t expect.
Jeff Hardy suggests heel turn for WWE return, feud with CM Punk

“If CM Punk is such a superpower in the pro-wrestling game — Heel Jeff Hardy against the one and only popular CM Punk. I mean, I feel like that’s completely possible,” Hardy said.
For many wrestling fans, especially the casuals, Jeff Hardy is the ultimate babyface and they have never seen him as a heel. However, during the legendary “Broken” Matt Hardy era in TNA Wrestling, Hardy turned heel and aligned with his brother under the name of Brother Nero. So being bad is not something he is unfamiliar with.
With Punk at another peak popularity period, more fans would cheer him even over Hardy. That is why the idea makes a lot of sense and would be a good change from when they feuded in the 2000s and Punk was the heel while Hardy was the babyface.
