Jacob Fatu has been a WWE Superstar for only a few months. Since arriving, the Samoan Werewolf has been nothing short of impressive. He is a complete and total heel, doing everything to thwart Roman Reigns and the rest of the OG Bloodline, plus Cody and others along the way. But, you know, bad guys do bad things to good people, right? Of course, they do. And before Jacob Fatu was in WWE, he was a bad guy on the independent scene. And that afforded him plenty of opportunities for side hustles and appearances.

For whatever reason, this news is only coming out and being called out now. But, in 2023, long before Jacob Fatu was side by side with Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa, he was a top draw for the independent circuit. And, as indy wrestlers often do, they take on a wide variety of opportunities to earn. And this is where things pick up for Fatu.

As the report in Sports Illustrated goes, Fatu received an advance payment, just shy of $2800. The advance was for him to appear at a charity wrestling show for a cause called Jake’s Network For Hope.

Except, Solo Sikoa’s enforcer never showed up. Sure, he may be a heel in the ring, but taking the money and not showing up? That’s a next-level heel. As the report goes on to cover, Fatu claimed that he did not show up due to a family issue. That happens, though in this day and age, there’s no reason to ghost short of being incapacitated. The event organizer notes that they paid him up front, he no-showed the event and had not paid any of the money back. And it’s been a year.

Per the SI report, the charity is working with Fatu privately to make things right. Here’s hoping that, thanks to this new awareness, Fatu does better than just paying back the funds.
