WWE Legend Kevin Nash Claims Gunther Has 1 Specific Quality That Makes Him As Good As Shawn Michaels

Gunther has received a lot of praise from various WWE legends for his work in the company. And now Hall-of-Famer Kevin Nash is the latest to point out the elite talents of the World Heavyweight Champion.

The current top champion on Monday Night Raw is just days away from defending his title for the first time in the main event of Bash in Berlin. It has been a rapid ascent for the Austrian native, and his match on Saturday versus Randy Orton will be another major moment over a two-year period that has been filled with them.

Even before he joined the main roster, “The Ring General” had long been praised for his in-ring work on the independent scene in Europe. Then in NXT UK and NXT. However, now that he has been under the brightest spotlight in the industry he has been catching the attention of WWE legends that preceded him.

On more than one occasion, the Undertaker has complemented the Austrian’s talents. And on a recent edition of his “Kliq This” podcast, fellow WWE great Kevin Nash claimed there is a unique quality that Gunther has that makes him very similar to fellow Hall-of-Famer Shawn Michaels.

“Gunther is like Shawn Michaels. Not in work style, but in psychology, where he could make somebody, and still be a heel and beat them,” Nash said [h/t WrestlingInc]. “And get out of there with the belt week after week after week. And then build his heat.”

It really is a special characteristic that has made his tenure in WWE so memorable. Unlike AEW, the WWE audience is not one that tunes in mainly for the matches. However, in a less wrestling-centric company, Gunther has been able to succeed and draw in casual fans during his matches. Due to his ability to make his foes look like threats, and then dash those hopes with powerful chops and moves.

Bash in Berlin goes down this Saturday and will air at 1 PM ET on Peacock in the United States.
