As he closes in on his rumored WWE retirement match, wrestling legend Bill Goldberg has offered another health update. And it seems the 58-year-old is making steady progress.
After Goldberg made an appearance at WWE Bad Blood in October, there were rumblings of an upcoming retirement match. Earlier this year, he and the company confirmed that was the plan, and rumors have suggested it could be at this year’s SummerSlam. In preparation for the bout, he has slowly been getting himself in the best shape possible. This week, he offered an update on his current health and revealed he’s had no setbacks.
“I feel a little bit better, I’ve gained a little bit of weight, man,” he said on his “Carcast” podcast. “Done a little kickboxing on the weekends. I’m getting there. I’ve got a little bit of time left. Slowly but surely — Rome wasn’t built in a day. Believe me, it’s been really tough to control myself, but I think I’m on a good schedule. I’m injury-free as of right now.”
Bill Goldberg undergoing stem cell procedure was a major success
Earlier this year, Goldberg underwent a stem cell procedure to try and fix the harsh wear and tear from years of delivering spears and jackhammers. Well, it seems that it has been a huge benefit in helping him reach tip-top form before his upcoming retirement match.
“Much better. I mean, I can do things with it. I couldn’t do anything with it in December,” Goldberg said. “It’s one of those things. It’s like rebuilding a car. You’ve got to strip it down to the bare minimum and sequentially build it in a logical form. It applies to a vehicle, it applies to your body. I can’t get overzealous and put s*** on before it’s time. It’s a very slow process. But I think the way I’m going about it is hopefully gonna work.”
