NXT will look rather different in a few days. They will remain on TV in the 8pm EST spot, although they are now part of The CW. WWE has stacked the first show, which will open with Giulia looking to take the title from Roxanne Perez. Heading into the match, there has been lots of talk about Giulia being a huge star in WWE.
Yet, she is facing criticism from WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley. On Busted Open Radio, Ray wanted to see Giulia show charisma. “Have her cut promos in Japanese, but have that fire,” said Ray. “We’ve seen it from Asuka. It can work. When Asuka cuts her promos, she has a lot more fire. She’s a lot more vibrant, there’s a lot more personality. Stare down the barrel of that camera, speak in Japanese, and let me know that you are going to defeat Roxanne. Because that’s what Paul Heyman would’ve told her to do.”
Giulia Is Not Main Roster Ready
Yes, Heyman would probably have presented Giulia in a different way than Triple H and Shawn Michaels have done. Also, he makes a good point about Asuka. She never mastered the English language, but her promos were intense; even if most did not understand what she said. Giulia simply has not connected liked fans hoped.
As for Perez, she oozes charisma. She will play the heel and that hopefully sees Giulia better presented on TV. I could see WWE pulling the trigger and giving Giulia the belt. Therefore, we get a new champion to start The CW era of NXT and Perez might be headed to the main roster. So, will Giulia vs Roxanne Perez be the highlight on Wednesday night?
