Dominik Mysterio Reveals Hilarious Original Plans Vince McMahon Had For Him In Rey Mysterio Vs. Eddie Guerrero Custody Match

During a recent appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast, Dominik Mysterio revealed a wild unknown detail about the original plans for the custody match between his father Rey Mysterio, and Eddie Guerrero.

There have been many second and third-generation performers in WWE over the last 20 years. One of the latest offspring of a former star to reach the main roster is Rey Mysterio’s son Dominik. And the current member of the Judgement Day has become a valuable asset on the roster despite only being a full-time competitor for a few years.

However, he is a natural for the industry because he has taken part in it since he was a kid. Many long-time WWE fans first saw Dominik Mysterio almost two decades ago when he was at the heart of a feud between his Hall-of-Famer father and fellow legend Eddie Guerrero.

The friends turned enemies had a heated rivalry that ended with them fighting over custody of a young Dominik at SummerSlam in 2005. The younger Mysterio watched from ringside as his father was triumphant, but that was not the original plan.

Dominik Mysterio says Vince McMahon wanted to hang him over the ring for his custody match in 2005

“Did you hear what they originally wanted to do with me? They wanted to hang me,” Mysterio revealed in an appearance on Logan Paul’s popular podcast “Impaulsive.” “Not even from a cage, they just wanted to hang me. Like on a waist thing and have me dangle there.”

Paul then asked if they wanted to have him dangle like the Money in the Bank briefcase does in that match. Mysterio responded by saying, “Yeah, but a kid.”

Obviously that didn’t end up happening, but it shows just some of the wild ideas that were once thrown around when WWE founder Vince McMahon was overseeing all creative decisions for the company. McMahon was forced out of the company last year due to an ongoing sexual assault lawsuit filed against him by a former employee.
