WWE’s Dominick Mysterio Shockingly Beats Out Former AEW Champ MJF For Major Honor From ESPN

On Monday, MJF was bumped from the top spot of a notable wrestling list by none other than “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio.

The metamorphosis of Dominik Mysterio from the goodie-two-shoes son of Rey Mysterio to the weasley member of Judgement Day has been a site to behold. While fans respected his efforts to turn into a full-fledged WWE talent, his personality never captivated audiences.

However, turning to the dark side and betraying his father to join Judgement Day two years ago, gave his character a lot of life. Since then, he has become one of the best heels in the promotion and the reaction he gets from the WWE audience is the greatest proof. He has also been showered with praise over the last year for his growth as a performer, including from WWE icon the Undertaker.

Well, this week, he received another major honor for his work in and out of the ring, and this time it was from sports media giant ESPN.

This week, ESPN unveiled their list of the 30 best wrestlers under the age of 30 right now. And surprisingly, Dominik Mysterio was awarded the top spot. Here is what the outlet had to say about the 27-year-old.

“The son of the legendary luchador Rey Mysterio has become the ultimate heat magnet in pro wrestling. From his mullet and cartoon villain mustache to his dastardly relationship with Liv Morgan, which only amplified the hate, Mysterio has cemented himself into a full-blown heel in an era where there are far too many “cool” bad guys. He’s easy to hate but has quietly improved his in-ring skills to match his persona. He has become a constant presence on WWE television who never wears out his welcome. Instead, showering him with deafening boos has become the best part of the show for most.”

The No. 1 wrestler on last year’s list, former AEW champion MJF, fell to the second spot in 2024. Former on-camera Mysterio flame Rhea Ripley earned the No. 4 spot this year after finishing at two in 2023. Seven of the top 10 featured talent from AEW. You can find the full top 10 below.
