WWE Legend Dave Bautista To Follow Conor McGregor As New Villain In Action Movie Series?

It looks like WWE legend Dave Bautista’s next big movie role could be to follow UFC great Conor McGregor as the baddie in Roadhouse 2.

Bautista has put together a very nice career for himself in Hollywood. While it took time, he’s developed a reputation for taking big and small parts in a variety of films. However, the WWE great will always be a popular choice for action roles because of his size and background in wrestling.

That is probably why Variety is reporting that the future WWE Hall of Famer has been offered a role in the sequel to Amazon Prime’s Roadhouse remake. The updated version of the Patrick Swayze classic was released last year. And starred Jake Gyllenhaal as ex-UFC fighter turned bouncer extraordinaire Dalton.

In the 2024 film, former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor made his film debut as the movie’s villain, Knox. Could Bautista be following the Irishman as the sequel’s villain?

While Dave Bautista be the villain in Roadhouse 2?

Bautista has played a bad guy in previous films, including the sci-fi hit Dune. So it makes a ton of sense for him to play that type of role in the upcoming film that will be directed by Guy Ritchie instead of Doug Liman.

However, it is possible he could be taking on the role of a fan-favorite character that was not in the remake. That being of Wade Garrett. Played by acting legend Sam Elliott in the 1989 original. Garrett was a mentor and older brother figure in the 80s film, but was not included in last year’s remake.

Sequels always go bigger with more intense threats. Gyllenhaal may face a challenge he can’t handle alone. And brings in the help of his old pal Garrett. The 56-year-old Bautista would be just as good a fit in that role as the next film’s baddie as well.
