During an interview this week, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes revealed who is the real locker room leader for the company. And surprisingly, it is not him or other top stars like Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, or CM Punk.
There is little doubt that Cody Rhodes is one of the faces — if not the main face — of WWE. Since his return in 2022, he has been a main-event talent, and his historic WWE title win at Wrestlemania 40 put a stamp on his place as the standard bearer for the promotion.
In the months since, he has become what he calls the quarterback of WWE. He is making all the appearances on podcasts and TV shows, as well as doing interviews for various news outlets and radio stations. Along with headlining episodes of Smackdown and premium live events. For all intents and purposes, it feels like “The American Nightmare” is the unofficial leader of the company when it comes to the roster.
However, during a recent interview with YouTube channel Jazzy’s World TV, he claimed he is not the current leader of the locker room. And it isn’t legends like Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, or CM Punk either. The person he believes is really the leader of the locker room may surprise many long-time WWE fans.

Cody Rhodes says Bayley is the real leader of the WWE locker room

“Here’s the thing I don’t think people know about Bayley. She’s probably the actual current locker room leader,” Rhodes revealed. “Like, if you’ve got a captain, you know, the ‘C [for captain]’ on the jersey, it’s probably her and Randy Orton.
“In terms of, you need something done, ‘Hey, such and such doesn’t need to be late anymore. Hey, we need energy for this show.’ She’s the locker room leader, and she should be.”
Randy Orton isn’t too surprising to be mentioned as a leader of the locker room. He is a legend and one of the longest-tenured members of it. However, the fact that a female performer is viewed as a locker-room leader for everyone says a ton about the respect she has among her peers.
Bayley originally signed with WWE in 2012 and has worked her way up from the developmental system to become a guaranteed WWE Hall-of-Famer when she eventually ends her career. Winning multiple singles and tag championships.
