CM Punk so badly wants to do more during John Cena’s retirement tour that he would even be open to tagging up with him.
Cena began the start of his farewell tour in January 2025. But things went in a surprising direction when he turned to the dark side in March and then won his 17th world championship in April at WrestleMania 41. However, as more time passes, that means even fewer dates the WWE icon has left on his in-ring career.
CM Punk clashed with Cena at this year’s Elimination Chamber. However, it seems that was not enough for the “Second City Saint.” In a recent interview with Netflix’s Tudum, the WWE legend expressed his desire to have more opportunities to cross paths with Cena during the final months of his career.
“Selfishly, I’d love to be a part of [Cena’s farewell tour] in any which way he possibly sees fit. He wants to tag with me, awesome. He wants to lock back up with me, fantastic. But as a fan, I’m just excited to be here to witness it all.”
CM Punk
The 17-time WWE Champion is already set to lock up with another of his iconic rivals for the last time this weekend. He will defend his Undisputed WWE title against Randy Orton at WWE Backlash on Saturday. The event will take place in “The Viper’s” hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. Giving Orton a major home-field advantage.
Punk made his return to WWE television this week on RAW. He went right after his heated rival, Seth Rollins, and his new allies, Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman. Punk and Cena are on separate paths at the moment. But it will be interesting to see if the WWE Universe will be able to witness them together in the ring one more time.
