WWE Report: Chelsea Green Was Pitched To Win 2025 Royal Rumble With Wild Idea

WWE’s newest Behind the Scenes series, WWE Unreal, takes fans behind the curtains as the company develops their storylines, and it seems during this week’s episode, an interesting bombshell was dropped about Chelsea Green and this year’s Royal Rumble.

In the newest edition of WWE Unreal, one of the writers on the creative team made a surprise pitch for the finish of the Women’s Royal Rumble this year. The situation would have called for two female competitors to remain in the ring after the Number 29 entrant made their entrance. They would have fought and then eliminated each other, leaving the ring empty at one point.

Just then, SmackDown star Chelsea Green would have come out as the Number 30 entrant. She would have flexed a bit and been declared the winner of the Women’s Royal Rumble without any effort to win the 30-woman over-the-top-rope melee, which sounded like a unique yet bizarre moment.

The writer said, “You’ve got entrant 29 in there. They come in, and there are two women left, and they end up doing a double elimination. So, whoever is number 30 automatically wins. Chelsea Green walks down, does this [arms stretched out gesture], and wins the Royal Rumble.”

As we saw, WWE did not proceed in that direction and denied Chelsea Green a huge win in her career. Instead, the match was won by the returning Charlotte Flair. The Queen made her return after more than a year of recovering from a devastating knee injury.

Flair and NXT standout Roxanne Perez were the last two competitors left in the match. Despite The Prodigy’s best efforts, The Queen tossed her over-the-top rope to win her second Royal Rumble match in the process. With WWE giving the fans more insight into their inner world, where they work as a team to produce weekly television and marquee events, it will be interesting to see more such series in the future that let them in completely.
